General Breem scowls back at the city. Behind him, his legion marches off.

INT. SHACK IN TOWN BORDERING KETHENECIA – THE PAST – SAME
Through a gap in the shack wall, Cale watches the fighting force head for the country.
CALE
They’re leaving?
KRUNCH
I thought you’d be relieved.
CALE
We killed-
BENNY
You.
CALE
I killed their big magical muckety muck. What’s more important than bringing a mancercide suspect to justice?
Benny, Krunch, and Tavor digest Cale’s words. Cale peaks out again.
Cut to:
EXT. KETHENECIA – THE PAST – SAME
Outside The Citadel, armed guards stand on high alert.
Cut to:
EXT. SHACK IN TOWN BORDERING KETHENECIA – THE PAST – SAME
Only Cale’s eye is visible through the slats. It squints.
CALE
What do you notice about those guards?
Krunch’s bull’s eye pops up next to Cale’s.
KRUNCH
They’re not marching? Nothing suspicious about that; war does not mean leaving your home unguarded.
Benny’s beady little eye joins them. Cale and Krunch’s eyes rotate to accommodate her.
BENNY
They’re confused. Their eyes are shifting, but not at the perimeter they’re guarding. They’re looking to each other, making sure they’re behaving appropriately.
Another elven eye joins the now crowded gap in the woods. Krunch’s eye glowers at this new eye. Benny’s bulges open.
TAVOR
They look alike.
Cut to:
INT. SHACK IN TOWN BORDERING KETHENECIA – THE PAST – SAME
The group stops crowding the hole in the wall.
CALE
Exactly. The army that left had diversity. The guards who stayed behind look more homogeneous than a royal bloodline.
KRUNCH
They recruited outsiders they don’t trust.
CALE
They’re not marching to war, they’re taking a trip to live on a nice farm. I hate when we miss random acts of violence!

A solemn Richard crossed out the Population of 2675 and writes 2672 in his green blood.
