Grouping For Looks is a page-by-page retelling of the Looking For Group saga through the lens of a mirror universe where Cale is a goateed tyrant and Richard is a holy soul trying to set him on a good path.
EXT. THE DESERTS OF KETHENECIA – DAY
Richard regards his glass dragon creation with a mix of pride and shame.
It ends up, vitrifying the sand dragon didn’t kill it. The glass beast digs its sharper but less granular maw into Richard’s torso.
The rest of the group takes up arms.
Do you have a special arrow for glass?
Like a fastball special.
Cale and the minitaur exchange geeky grins. The elf pulls the head off an arrow, then tiny muscle cow man Krunch climbs along the headless shaft.
Cale fires Krunch twice the speed of a cheetah (which itself is only twice the speed of a cow. Good for you, cows! I had no idea two of you could go as fast as one cheetah). He smashes through the torso of the glass dragon, shattering it.
Glass shards viscerate Krunch’s leathery hide.
Smugly, Benny waves a green glowing green hand. The shards fire out of Krunch’s healing skin exactly like porcupine quills don’t. A wave of a red glowing green hand puts up shields that absorb the airborne glass, preventing his from going on for a while.
Cale eyes the discarded dragon eyes.
“Close the eyes with the path to uncover the road.”
He steps on the eye.
Get in there, path! Close that eye.
Richard raises a hand to object. Benny takes him by the wrist and lowers his hand.
Richard, Benny, and Krunch stand back and watch Cale stamp the eyes, grind his heels in, and eventually throw a stomping fit, none of which unveils a road.
Infuriated, Cale draws his swords and stabs the eyes.
A sand dragon bears down on the group. Next to a quiver of scrolls, Krunch runs down an unfurled scroll, muttering to himself.
A yellow flash of light engulfs them all.
