Well friends, we once again find ourselves on the doorstep of the holidays, with a brand spanking new year on the horizon. Our offices will be (kinda) open over the next couple of weeks, and comics will continue updating as they always do, but for the most part, folks around here are off to see friends and family at least for the next few days.
Like a lot of people I’m sure, I’ve got pretty mixed feelings about 2017. In spite of all the fun we had, it felt like the year was out to get is most of the time. We got the Richard Action Figure, some killer animations, TDA: The Game, and our first-ever Kids book, but we also got the loss of Net Neutrality, exposed and admitted some hard truths about the “geek industry” and lost the one true Batman.
As far as 2018 goes, at this point I’m choosing to be cautiously optimistic. While 2017 beat a lot of us down, we’re getting pretty good at getting back up again and that’s how I plan to start 2018; with a renewed sense of hope. Cynicism and pessimism tend to become self-fulfilling prophecies, so I’m going to do my best to fight back against them and carry as much positivity as I can through 2018.
Yikes, that sounds like one of those dreaded New Year’s Resolutions…
At any rate, before I bite off more that I can chew, I just want to say, on behalf of everyone here at LFG/Blind Ferret, Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to everyone. As a parting gift we’d like to offer you up a special episode of TDA’s Briefs. A lovely looped video to add the appropriate amount of crackling fire and murder to the background of your holidays.
There’s already a ton of stuff in the queue for next year that I can’t wait to share with you all. I’m genuinely excited for what’s on the horizon, and I hope you will be too!
Be happy, be safe and be good to one another and we’ll see you in 2018!
